Subway days out for people living in Korea
About
Got a few hours? Take the subway somewhere new.
K Subway Tour helps people living in Korea turn a spare morning or afternoon into an easy outing. Pick a station, follow a route I’ve actually walked, and discover nearby cafés, streets, views, and places worth stopping for.
Hi, I’m Danny Cho.
Many of my international friends came to Korea to teach English. They found places they loved, but I often felt there were still so many neighborhoods, cafés, walks, and small experiences I wanted to show them.
Why the subway?
Korea’s subway makes that possible. If you live in the Seoul metropolitan area, a completely different kind of day can be only a few stops away. Every station has its own character—and often its own streets, cafés, views, and places worth getting off for.
Why I started K Subway Tour
When my friends were living in Korea, I often found myself thinking, “I wish they had discovered this place before they left.” There were cafés, streets, walks, and small day trips I would have loved to share with them.
And, conveniently, I recently left my job and found myself with quite a bit more time. So I’m using K Subway Tour as an excellent excuse to ride the subway, wander around, take photos, and call it research.
That’s how K Subway Tour began.
Start with the time you have
This site is for people living in Korea who have a few hours to spare and want to go somewhere different without planning a whole trip. Choose a station, follow a route we’ve actually walked, and see what you find nearby.
Go alone, make it a date, or bring your friends. I hope K Subway Tour helps you enjoy more of Korea while you’re here—and leave with more places and memories that feel like your own.
We go there first
Every route begins with a real visit. I start at the station exit, walk the stops in order, take the photographs, and record the visit date, total time, and what I spent before publishing.
I’m building this one station at a time. If you have a place I should visit, an idea for the site, or simply want to say hello, I’d love to hear from you.
