A Relaxed Solo Day Around Beomgye Station
A relaxed solo route from Beomgye Station through Pyeongchon Central Park, Cafe Jogak, local lunch and a movie. About 5 hours 30 minutes; ₩27,000.

For a relaxed solo day in Anyang, I started at Beomgye Station on Line 4, took a walk in the park, had coffee and lunch, and watched a movie.
I went on 1 October 2026. I’ve been coming to Beomgye since I was young. This visit reminded me why I like it: a park, cafés, lunch spots and a cinema, all in one area.
The mix is what I like about this area: I can spend the morning outdoors, sit down for coffee and lunch, then finish with a film. This was a solo outing, but Cafe Jogak is also somewhere I’d take a friend visiting the neighborhood.
The route at a glance
Beomgye Station → Pyeongchon Central Park → Cafe Jogak → Momone Guksujip → Lotte Department Store and Lotte Cinema
I spent ₩27,000: ₩5,000 on coffee, ₩8,000 on lunch and ₩14,000 on the movie. Transport and shopping are not included.
My outing took about 5 hours 30 minutes. I arrived at the station at 09:30 and headed home around 15:00.
Planning the same stops? Momone serves lunch Tuesday to Saturday and closes on public holidays. On a weekday, move the café stop to 11:00 or later; on Saturday it opens at 10:00. You’ll need a different lunch stop on Sunday or Monday, and a film screening that fits the rest of your day.
Park details checked on 7 October 2026; café, restaurant and department-store hours rechecked on 10 October 2026. Holiday hours and temporary closures can differ from the regular schedule.

Start
Start at Beomgye Station
I arrived at Beomgye Station at 09:30 and headed first to Pyeongchon Central Park. Exit 3 is a useful starting point for the park.

Arrived
Take a breather at Pyeongchon Central Park
I reached Pyeongchon Central Park at 09:42. The open lawn, tree-lined paths and tall buildings around the park give it a spacious feel. On this clear morning, I liked being able to look up at a broad stretch of blue sky rather than spending the whole outing indoors.
Opening details: Open around the clock, year-round. Facilities and events may have separate schedules. Check latest details

A clear morning at Pyeongchon Central Park. Spring and autumn are when I’d bring a book and settle in for a while. Event preparations made parts of the park look less tidy on this visit, but they did not take away from the open view.
I’ve also spent time here in the evening. The lights from the surrounding buildings give the park a different feel after dark, so the morning walk in this guide is only one way I enjoy it.

Arrived
Coffee at Cafe Jogak
I arrived at Cafe Jogak at 10:12 and ordered an iced Americano for ₩5,000.
Opening details: Mon–Fri 11:00–23:00; Sat–Sun 10:00–23:00. If you follow this route on a weekday, plan the café stop for 11:00 or later. Check latest details

I took a coffee break at Cafe Jogak. The interior is a big reason I return. Wooden tables, woven chairs, upholstered armchairs and small decorative details give me plenty to look at while I have my coffee. I like that the seating is varied, so I can choose the kind of chair I feel like sitting in.
For me, the Korean-inspired touches are what make Cafe Jogak worth introducing to a friend from abroad. I’ve come here several times, and I especially like having time to notice the different decorative details.
The owner was friendly, I enjoyed my Americano, and my drink was brought to my table after I ordered. If you are following the weekday version of this route, leave more time for the park and arrive at the café after its current 11:00 opening.

Arrived
Lunch at Momone Guksujip
I arrived at Momone Guksujip at 11:40 and ordered a large kimchi fried rice for ₩8,000.
Opening details: Tue–Sat 10:00–15:00. Closed Sunday, Monday and public holidays. Check latest details

Momone Guksujip was my lunch stop. Momone is the sort of neighborhood restaurant I’d recommend for a straightforward, reasonably priced lunch. My impression was that it drew people working nearby, rather than feeling like a place aimed mainly at visitors. That is part of what I liked about stopping here.
Despite the noodle-shop name, I chose kimchi fried rice. The large portion was enough for me, and I didn’t find it spicy. I think it could be a comfortable choice for visitors who prefer milder food. I enjoyed the meal and thought the quality was good for the price. The ordering kiosk offered several language options, which makes it easier to select a language and place an order.

Arrived
A movie at Lotte Cinema in the department store
I reached Lotte Department Store’s Pyeongchon branch near Beomgye Station at 12:20. The cinema is inside the department store, so I could finish my outing with a film and look around the shops in the same stop. My Lotte Cinema ticket cost ₩14,000.
Opening details: Department store: normally 10:30–20:00, with extended closing times on selected days. Closure dates vary by month; the current calendar lists 12 October 2026 as a closed day. Cinema access follows the film schedule, so check your screening separately. Check the store calendar · Check cinema showtimes

I watched a movie at Lotte Cinema.
A look inside Lotte Department Store. If you are already coming to Beomgye for a film or shopping, the park, café and lunch stops can make it a longer day out. I’d also check the store’s current listings for any pop-up shops in the basement if you want to browse.
My usual little ritual is to pick up a Pokémon card after a film. This time they were already sold out, so I went home without one. It’s a small detail, but this area holds a lot of memories for me because I’ve been coming here since I was young.

I headed home around 15:00, about 5 hours and 30 minutes after arriving at Beomgye Station.
My take
4.5 / 5
Beomgye has everything I want for a comfortable day at my own pace.
A park walk, good coffee, an affordable lunch and a movie were all I needed for a relaxing day. I’ve been coming here since I was young, so the area holds a lot of memories for me.
If I go again, I’ll visit the same stops in the same order.
Would I recommend this route? Yes, if you want an easy solo day with several ways to relax in one neighborhood.
