A Short Date from Jungang Station: Creamy Noodles and a Movie Café
A daytime date from Jungang Station in Ansan: cream jjamppong at Paldo Banjeom and Film Cinema café. Two-person costs, honest review and route map.

I usually don’t order jjamppong, but the creamy version at Paldo Banjeom gave me a reason to make an exception. Paired with a café full of movie details, it made a simple daytime date from Jungang Station in Ansan.
My girlfriend and I visited on 5 September 2026. We had lunch, coffee and tea, and talked, then left just after 14:00. The two stops were enjoyable; the outing as a whole felt a little too brief for me.
The route at a glance

I started at Jungang Station at 11:50. Make sure your map is set to Jungang in Ansan: the station name is used elsewhere too.

Jungang Station in Ansan. I’ve also written about a night out here with friends, but this was a separate daytime date. This time, the plan was simply a meal and a café where we could sit and talk.
- Arrived
Cream jjamppong at Paldo Banjeom
I arrived at Paldo Banjeom at 12:02. We ordered cream jjamppong for ₩12,000 and jajangmyeon for ₩7,000, making lunch ₩19,000 for the two of us.
I’m not usually a jjamppong person. I do like creamy pasta, though, and this bowl managed to keep both things: the warmth and slight heat of jjamppong, softened by a creamy sauce. That combination was the reason I liked it so much.

The cream jjamppong was the dish I’d come back for. It still had some spice. I found the heat manageable, but I wouldn’t describe it as a spice-free choice. If you like creamy noodles and want to try something a little different from your usual Korean-Chinese order, this would be my pick.
Location and hours: The main branch is at 73 Gojan 2-gil, on the first floor. Naver currently lists daily 10:00–01:00 the next day, without a separate weekly closed day, break time or last-order time. Check Paldo Banjeom’s current listing.

A movie-themed café for conversation
I arrived at Film Cinema Coffee Bar at 12:43. Look for the café on the third floor at 108 Gojan-ro; it isn’t a shop you enter straight from the pavement.
Before setting off, check the café’s branch, address and floor on Naver Map.
I had a ₩4,500 iced Americano, and my girlfriend had a ₩5,500 English Breakfast tea. Our drinks came to ₩10,000.

Movie posters, a television and closely arranged café tables. The movie-themed interior was the draw for me. Posters and film-related objects gave the room character, and there was a photo spot too. It felt like the sort of café I’d choose for a date or a catch-up with friends.

My iced Americano at Film Cinema. I wouldn’t choose it for a long session of solo work. For sitting together, talking and taking a few photos, it suited this afternoon well.
Hours: Daily 11:00–23:30. No regular weekly closed day, break time or last-order time is separately listed. Check Film Cinema before visiting.
- Heading home
A short outing comes to an end
We headed home at 14:02. With only lunch and the café, the date was over quite quickly.
My take
3 / 5
I enjoyed the cream jjamppong and the café, but the whole date felt too simple. It’s a useful route when you only want lunch and a drink together; I wanted one more thing to do.
If I go again, I’ll allow a little more budget for a board-game café or an escape room.
