Plan a Subway Day
Save a Subway Outing Map to Your Phone Before You Go
The route is ready, but will you be able to find it after leaving the station? Save the numbered map to your phone, check that it opens, and keep the details readable for your walk.

Quick answer
Before a subway outing, open the guide’s Save this route section and download its map PNG. Find the saved file on your phone and open it once before leaving. Keep the guide link too, so you can check the written details when you are online.
Save the full map, not just the picture on the page
A numbered route is easier to follow when the place names and stop descriptions remain readable. Use Download map guide PNG near the end of the outing guide to get the map file. A screenshot of the whole web page can make those details too small to read comfortably.
Check that you saved the route you actually want: the station, numbered places and descriptions should match the guide. If you have several outings on your phone, give the file a name you will recognize, such as “Gojan outing map.” Keep the original labels and credit footer when saving or sharing it.
Find it again on your phone
In Chrome on Android, Google’s instructions say you can touch and hold a download link or image and choose Download link or Download image. Downloaded files can be found in the Files app; Chrome also has a Downloads list.
On iPhone, check the Downloads button in Safari or the Downloads folder in Files after downloading. If the PNG opens in a browser tab, use the browser’s image-saving controls, then check where the file ended up. Saving an image and merely leaving its tab open are different actions.
Button names can vary by browser and phone version. The useful test is simple: can you find and open the saved map from your files or photos without returning to the website?
Give the saved file a quick offline check
While you are still at home, briefly disconnect from the internet and open the saved file again. Zoom in on the smallest place names and stop descriptions. If the file needs to load from cloud storage, make sure it is available on the phone before relying on it outside. Reconnect afterward to check any current notices.
The PNG gives you a fixed view of the numbered stops. It does not update opening hours, show your live position or calculate a new walking route when you take a different street. For a turn-by-turn journey, open the guide’s exact place link in your map app when connected. Follow crossings, signs and access restrictions on the ground.
Try it with the Gojan art-and-coffee route
My Gojan route brings together art, budae-jjigae and coffee. Open the guide, choose whether its stops suit your day, then save the numbered map at the bottom. Keep the written visit notes alongside it for context rather than treating the image as the whole guide.
You can follow the stops at your own pace and leave one out if your time or plans change. Before traveling, check the first venue’s opening day and your route home. A saved map is useful preparation; the outing still needs a workable date.
Prefer paper? Check the small print first
Print the downloaded PNG with the whole map and description panel visible. Use the print preview to make sure the numbered details and credit footer fit on the page, then check the actual sheet before packing it. Keep a digital copy too if you want to zoom in later.
